so, here are my testresults...

first, it doesn't work... everything i tried it won't work... i had win2000, had daemon tools, had alcohol, had images, buff, so wracked that much cdr's, it was ridiculous... even with the image from this thread... (i tried german AND english version)...

now... yeah, NOW, it works... BOTH!!! german and english... in the newest versions...
because of a very lazy system (and a new cpu) i wanted to reinstall, format the harddisk...
so i formatted and installed winxp... clean install, some drivers, nothing more... installed alcohol, still had the image from this thread burned... so, because i thought german version wouldn't work at all, i installed the english one... patched to plus, and voilá, it worked... i thought, YEAH!... but then, i wanted to test it... i installed the german version, besides... patched this one, and voilá, it works!!!
so, after many failures, and many MANY images i downloaded and did by myself (i have images from 7 different roms...), it works...

so, the question is why it works now... to shorten it up, i don't know... the only thing i can think of is, under win2000 it did not work because of the different tools i had installed, like daemon tools and so on, and maybe because of win2000, too... so winxp was a good basis...
what i saw in the reg of my old system, is that VOB had TWO entries... 62 and 64... on the old system i first had the german version installed, english afterwards... on my system now, there is only one reg entry, and that is 62 at the end...
so, if you wanna play the english, try a fresh winxp...
if you wanna play german, fresh, too, install english, german, and try...
if you have a fresh winxp installation, look up VOB or ProtectCD in the registry, and look which numbers you got, and maybe delete the 64, if there is a 62...

i hope i could help some people...

good night...

ps: my configuration
tested on an p4 3.0, winxp sp1 system
two roms, cd-rw NoName and NEC 1300-a
just tested nec, because it works ^^°
the image is burned on a normal intenso cd-rw 4x, nothing special...
