Simply add my patch (~30mb) and you get the latest Source-Engine-Update for HL2 and the latest bot for css.
And yes, if you apply that patch you have a menu where you can setup different stuff about the bots...

After several days of investigation I have come to the conclusion that all I would need to unlock the HL2 files from my STORE BOUGHT (United States)version of HL2 is the "Half-Life Offline Installer." Is this right? I have no ISP connected to the tower running HL2 and must unlock it VIA other means. Am I correct in my assumptions?

Yep, mine:
-"HL2 Offline-Installer" ~0,8 mb (rar'd).
-"HL2 Offline-Installer" ~2,25 mb (Setup).

But as far as i know, you also need my S.E-Patch which is now 25,8 - 30,7mb, if you have the US-Version...

Steamless Hammer?

Hi. Does anybody know a way to run Hammer without steam? I have got all the necessary gcf files to run Source SDK with steam (good thing that ATI HL2 coupon). I am also running HL2 and CSS without steam (using Semthex emulator), but I have never found a way to fool Hammer.
Anybody have an idea?

Its not working with SemThex-emu, as far as i know.
Try "UniLauncher" instead and dont use it for other actions then offline sdk

Hey Guys,
good work
I've got a question for the pros ^^
I own HL2+CSS and want to make a non-steam-version of CS:S for playing with my friends on Lan (only Lan! I can play online with Steam)! The problem is, I want the newest version of the game (I own the newest up-to-date gcf's of HL2 and CSS)! Is there a good solution for my problem out there? I can't find a solution in this thread because the thread has too much sites and it's very confusing...

Summory:
-I own the newest gcf's
-games are already activated
-would like to have an up-to-date non-steam-version of CS:S!
-wanna play on Lan with friends

If I have to download sth. can you please give me a good mirror, this would be very useful, because most if the mirrors in the thread doesn't work

Thank you a lot!
Xasecs

Ps: Sorry for my english ^^

hey Guys,
sry for double-post!
Now I write especially for Pjspliff, because I'm german, like him, and my english isn't very good, like you see and so I can ask him questions in german and he will understand it ^^

@ Pjspiff:
Hi,

No Steam!

Hi

I have extracted all the GCF files properly, and set it up so the games runs great. Without steam noless!

unfortunatly, as I am about to enter the level where I get the gravity gun (right after "we don't go to ravenholm anymore"), it loads and gives me the "You're F**ked" error message.

I've tried downloading scripts from this thread. To no avail.
I've attempted to find a newer version of Steam.dll... to no avail.
I've even tried to see if I was missing any files... apparently not.

How can I fix this error? I really want to get back to HL2!

any help is appreciated.

Zuallererst, muss ich dir 2 no-Steam Methoden erläutern.

--- For DSL-User (and updated .gcf-archives tru Steam)
Stichtwort: "UniLauncher" ...
-
---For 56K-User (and not updated .gcf-archives tru Steam)

Advise from me, read my TuT
It includes all necesarry information/links about a "up to date" working HL2 and CSS no-Steam Version

But if you have Broadband, i recomend using "UniLauchner" oder "crack360" (v4), because it work with updated .gcf-archives

PS: If you get the "You are ++++ed"-Message, you use a old no-Steam Emulator (~51kb?)

Thumbs up Get the latest textures & models

Hi all

I usesd PjsPliff's way to the steamless version of Half Life 2 (and CS:S) very good:grayyes: :blacraz
I hate those annoying pink colors on the wall on new downloaded maps, so if I can burn those new updated GCF files (halflife_2_base_content.gcf and base_source_shared_models.gcf and all those files) from friend, and open them with GCFScape 1.30, wich files do I need to extract to my root folder to get the latest models and textures??? It would be a great help for many 56K'ers like me.:grayyes:

Thanks for answering:corn: :corn:

For CSS you need the materials-, maps-, sound- (if you like) and models-Folder of "counter-strike source shared.gcf" (~1,2 GB).
Extract (gcfscape) the mentioned Folders into your "cstrike"-Folder (ex: "C:/Games/HL2/cstrike")

The files apears to be unavailable, because of a large amount of people downloading from that server... could you mail it to me?

I never updated my GCF archives, they're like they where on my DVD, except decoded.

Wink

yap, thats why i've programed that little app.
Actually you need 3 things: Your HL2-DVD/CD, my HL2 Offline Installer and the S.E-Update Patch.
With the patch you'll get almost the latest source-engine, for example the coming HDR-Effect and stability/improvments.

Thank you very much. I have all three those things so I think do be able to do that.

Until now I have always used Steam-Down. What is better in using your method??

Thank you again.

Its for 56k-Users
You don't need steam and also get almost the newest Source-Engine for HL2 and CSS via my patch.
No need to download bunch of new maps and stuff like that, to get it up to date...

So your method is only to activate and to update to the last version an original copy of HL2 so to play directly without the need to have any interaction with the net??
