thats not why I posted it, there have been a zillion posts on this board asking about a NoDVD/NoCD fix for FEAR 1.02 and now there is one. I dont what you mean by "its not legal", because FEAR can be purchased at www.gamestop.com www.walmart.com and www.ebgames.com and a million other game retailers.

yeah, I know I changed it because I was just quoting what gamecopyworld had said, it originally said FEAR 1.02 patch and Private Server Fix for the 1.02 Patch.

I don't suppose there is a FEAR no-DVD that's just a no-DVD. This fix results in an invalid assets error when connecting to multiplayer servers.
Or is there perchance a way to use this no-DVD in such a way? I tried just changing the FEAR.exe and got a windows application error.
I'm not really interested in a fixed image, they seem to be too much hassle.

This may help you as the empiro mp fix is broken and somebody released this patch to fix it:

FEAR 1.02 Fixed Public Server Patch

Unfortunately, the EMPORIO v1.02 public server patch release doesn´t work properly.

Here are x steps to set up your own private server:


1) Install Fear 1.0
2) Update to 1.02
3) JUST copy the EngineServer.dll from this archive into your Fear Directory, overwrite old one.
4) Mount FEAR Image with DT4
5) Hide Virtual drives with your favourite hiding tool, antiblah,-blaxx etc.
6) Run FEAR,Setup dedicated server, all should work fine without exception error running FEARServer.exe

I am new at this, but I am having a bit of trouble.

When I mount the image, it opens drive E. However there is a "set up" option and the games files. There is no .exe to use however to play the game. Am I missing something?

I have bin trying to use a cracked v. of the EXE fil. But my screen turnes in all black. And can only use CTRL+ALT+DEL to get out agin.

xzipDK u admitted to obtaining the game illegaly in your other post, you will not get help in your warez fest....

go out and buy the game rather than rip developers off

the fact u downloaded it also is whats causing your problem, so you see warez is not only illegal but usually a waste of a download and effort

Just close the drive, and run the game, it will work as the mini-image its just a small image created from a CD/DVD.
