"A.I. Disabled" Half-Life

"A.I. Disabled" Half-Life 2

I started playing hl2 and had to leave so i saved the game and quit... When I got back i reloaded the game and i get a message saying "rebuilding node data" or something like that.. Besides that while playing it has A.I. Disabled on the screen at all times and the A.I. Is disabled they just stand there ..... Now i did try the cheat for notarget but that had no effect... Anyone heard of this and can point me in the right direction i would be very greatful.....

on the console type
ai_disabled 0 (press enter)

Here is the solution for A.I.disabled bug:

Go into your hl2\cfg\ folder, and create a txt file, inside this text file, write the following lines.
ai_norebuildgraph "1"
ai_disable "0"

Save, then rename the text file to ai_fix.cfg, right click the file and set it to read only.
Next, open up valve.rc in notepad, you should see the following
// load the base configuration
//exec default.cfg
// Setup custom controller
exec joystick.cfg
// run a user script file if present
exec autoexec.cfg
//
// stuff command line statements
//
stuffcmds
// display the startup level
startupmenu

under "exec autoexec.cfg", add this line
exec ai_fix.cfg

Save the file and your done!

Cannot bring up the console to fix "ai disabled"

Hi,
I cannot bring up my console to fix the AI disabled problem. I am hitting the ~
key but the console is not coming up. I know I was supposed to add "- console" to the shortcut, but I have not been successfull in making this work. Could someone help me?

I cannot get into the target "line"- my computer will not let me click there or add anything there. Any suggestions?

Even if we have fixed the problem as you wrote, does it have a incidence on the "Artificial Intelligence" of the characters????

Is "A.I. Disabled" means "Artificial Intelligence Disabled"????

Is someone could help me with that? What means A.I.??? And does it have a effect in the game???

Yes A.I. means Artificial Intelligence in this case. If game runs with this white text in the lower right of the screen it means that A.I. of the computer oponents is disabled - they are just standing and doing nothing. I dont know if it is a bug or some kind of a game protection.

If you have fixed the "A.I. problem" then you should have no problem.

I have tried your solution. It doesnt seem to work. I've done everything you have said to a pin. The only thing im sort of confused on is you said you need to create a txt file, inside this txt file... inside what txt file? Also, I have added -debug in the target command line and i still cannot access the console menu.

"C:\Documents and Settings\Supreme God\Desktop\half life 2\half life 2\hl2.exe" -debug

That's what my command line looks like.

bind f12 "ai_disable 0;ai_step;ai_resume"

it works beautifully! for everyone else out there... go to your CFG folder inside your half life 2 folder, open up your "config" file with notepad, and you will see this near the top of the txt document.

bind "F5" "jpeg"
bind "F6" "save quick"
bind "F9" "load quick"
bind "MWHEELDOWN" "invnext"
bind "MWHEELUP" "invprev"
bind "MOUSE1" "+attack"

add this: bind "F12" "ai_disable 0;ai_step;ai_resume"

right underneath the F9 bind button, save the document, start up hl2, press your F12 key and everything is good to go.

nice sollution but main is better because its permanent. You can also press ~ key to run a console and type ai_disable 0 + Enter. But you have to do it every time you run a game. Of course its easier to bind the command to F12...

I have found another bug in the game - The Elevator Bug. When you enter the building in "Black messa east" there is a script where a doctor women leads you to the elevator, but she suddenly stops talking and doesnt want to
enter it. Here is the solution:

Enter the elevator turn to the entrance and pres F6 and F9 - the script will continue and she will enter the elevator.

Different AI problem

I have the same issues as different people discribed above, yet I have another problem. When I re-ingage the AI, the game seems to be working again (the bots are talking), but when the bots have to move they freeze and I can't continue the game. Does anyone has a suggestion how to solve this?

anyone stuck at "AntiCitizen One" map? i cant pass through the car wreck. It seems i need to interact with the machine that eli daughter call as "Dog". Im stuck there anyone please help!!!

im not sure, he man, have you finish yet the game? im stuck in Dark Energy level while listening to Dr. Breen and Dr. Eli quarelling about the dimension portal and then after quite some talking the screen freeze when Dr. Judith try to help them. Do you have any idea what is going on??

i also have that bug but i fix it just starting tha game again, from the last mission i unlock and the Ai seems to work fine
