half life 2 problem hi I read the thread and found it very useful, because I was able to fix the A.I. bug with the F12 function(thank you b.t.w.) but I've still got a problem, I can't open the hl2.exe file, so I'm playing with the launcher, it works, but I can't open the console. I tried pressing ~ but it won't work, and I added -console at the back of the shortcut, but that didn't work either. is there another way to acces it? hoping for an answer
half life 2 the A.I disable thing comes bcs u ar using pirated cd. thats the first sign. anyway u can solve the problem by doing this: ... go to your CFG folder inside your half life 2 folder, open up your "config" file with notepad, and you will see this near the top of the txt document. bind "F5" "jpeg" bind "F6" "save quick" bind "F9" "load quick" bind "MWHEELDOWN" "invnext" bind "MWHEELUP" "invprev" bind "MOUSE1" "+attack" add this: bind "F12" "ai_disable 0;ai_step;ai_resume" right underneath the F9 bind button, save the document, start up hl2, press your F12 key and everything is good to go. this thing really works.
Hey! Okay... i just have one problem! i can't see the "ai disabled" text anywhere on the screen, neither the "save" when i quick save, dont think i see any text on the screen, plz someone know the solution???
Hi Mfs There is a easier solution to the problem.Put your Computer date back to sometime last year and play again. If it comes again (hours later :entlueft: ) do the same thing. It works muchos fun
Half Life 2 Hey guys, thx for your posts, i finally managed to get rid of "A.I. Disabled..." off my screen.... i have the same problem though like some of you: the characters in the game freeze after i enable the A.I.... i sent a mail to kajjo to help me out with this. thx again and have fun playing HL2
secondly this only occurs when you are playing an illigal version of HL2... there is a program that can fix this bug, but i wont post it since im 99% sure its illigal.... steam fixed this bug waay long ago....
Not all who have this bug have illegal version I bought the original HL2 DVD long ago but in that time I was on 56k garbage modem so could be take me ages download all the useless update crap Steam try to put on the Hd when you install . Also I an strong Steam type of systems haterl so I decrypted my original DVD and made and Steamless version. As him I had the famous AI bug I edited some thing can't remember what was and i could enable/dissbale the AI but on some advanced levels this command didn't correct completely all the problems with all caharcter and I had again problem one NPC of the game didn't move from some door not matter what I did getting me stuck cox didn't let me pass nomatter is Enabled/Disabled AI I read some old thread as him on the HL2 No cd with a more complete list of instructions you had to do editing some text files on HL2 that corrected the AI bug completely withoud need to enable or disable coz the instructions scrips was already on the files The problem got fixed completely but I had forgot what I did by nownow and the Steamless fixed version got formated the hd and lost it but as you can see maybe some us had an steamless version but made from the Original DVD I still have but I haven't played again this game on ages
JESUS CHRIST!! I am /so/ sick of people saying things like "try legal version GRRRRRR", thanks felatio… you [edited]! I own a legal copy of this game (orange box) and I can't even play the damn thing because of this bug. I contacted steam but am not getting my hopes up for a quick response. My only wish is that everyone would quit assuming that only people who pirated the game have the "A.I. Debug" problem!! Another thing... what if they bought the copy from a pirate? Then they are the victim and you're being a [edited] to them! Okay, I’m done venting... ^^
http://forums.megagames.com/rules/rules.php It seems a refresher course is needed. 1). Don't disrespect other members under any circumstances. 2). Downloading games is illegal, and therefore, not supported here at MGF (no exceptions). 3). If someone buys a game from a pirate, they are responsible, they're not a victim. Pirates will usually sell a game for something like one-tenth the cost of a legal version (if a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is). Basically, it's buyer beware. If you spend $10,000 on a really nice piece of art, and it turns out to be stolen, the police can seize this without a penny reimbursement. Buy games from authorized sellers, and you have nothing to worry about (because you have legal recourse) - buy from Joe Idaho on the street corner, you have nothing.
