  1. Just know that what you did was illegal, and you can be prosecuted for it. In the future when your disc breaks or scuffs beyond readability, contact the software company and they'll usually send you a replacement (as long as you can prove you own a legit copy of the game). That's the legal way to deal with your problem ;)
  2. make sure that your copy of xp is not a copied one
  3. I have instaled the xp fix but now I get a Violation error, I dont think it can be fixed, the cd is fine with NO scratches and none of the patches I have tried have worked, it has only changed the error message.
  4. To answer the (first) question(s):

When u installed the game it also asked to install a codec..U need to install this codec to get rid of the black screen and see the FMV (movies) Works great on Windows XP.
When u didnt installed it yet, u can find it at C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\tm_redist\setup.exe (place where i installed the game)

Also if u install the 1.4 XP patch, u indeed get a windows message about an original file being replaced, and that the system may get unstable. The file is gm.dls and the original is located at C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers (for backup).

This file is for MIDI sounds playing and in the 1.4 patch u will get an more advanced, with better quality MIDI sounds.

Hope this helps some peepz, ciao
  5. Hey guys,

This topic made me feel like playing FFVII again (never completed it.. ) But now im stuck near the shinra HQ. Can someone please play for me the shinra HQ without using cheats/editors until u are on the 69th floor? (almost at top)

That part is really annoying for me with all those keycards etc. But i really wanna enjoy the rest of the game. So if someone has time on their hands and got the game for pc installed, please help me. :)

    Thanks in advance.

  6. Do any of these walkthroughs help?
  7. Thanks for the help chap, but i dont have a printer, so i cant look back that easely, and im to lazy to write that part on paper. :sarcastic
  8. Is it legal

I will not make a move untill I know. I currently own the playstation game of FF7 and own the PS1. You all have stated that if you own the original it is legal to make backups or download the game but I only own the PS1 version. I have never seen FF7 for PC on the shelves, so is it legal to download the PC version if you own the playstation version of FF7?
  9. Nope.

However you CAN download an emulator and play the PS1 version on your PC.

    www.ngemu.com

Look for ePSXe, download it and a few plugns and u should be ok.
  10. Thank's

I thank you for the reply but I allready have the ePXe emulator with Pete's pluggins. I needed to make a charactor for something called Mugen. All of the charactors made to look like Sephiroth are very dissapointing. I just needed some still NPC screenshots of Sephiroth and remake them to fit the rest of the charactors. I heard the xp version had them. I will find another way to get them through ePXe unless if what im doing is illegal.
  11. Sorry

Excuse me, epsxe160 is what I have.
  12. Check the date before posting next time.
