I'm having some SERIOUS problems trying to back up my Dreamcast game. Basically I got a 10/100 lan adapter for my computer, I installed it, checked in device manager and it shows that the device it working properly. Next I install the broadband ripping toolkit, and got out the BBA rip V1.0. I turn on my dreamcast loading DC LOAD IP and copied down the mac address for the dreamcast and using "winipcfg" in windows 98, I brought up my adapter's IP address and put that in. The dreamcast and pc are connected with a LAN cable, and I restart the dreamcast, then restart BBA RIP V1.0, and go to connect. It says it's PLEASE WAIT but it doesn't connect. It gives error FAILED TO CONNECT. CODE 0102ff00. So I'm thinking CRAP, and I verify connections and everything and make sure I have the right version of DC LOAD IP and it APPEARS I'm doing everything right. So I think why don't I try DREAMRIP. So I downloaded and extract it to my desktop, loaded DC LOAD IP again and ran Dreamrip.bat and the error message there said C:\windows\desktop>dc-tool -t 192.169.0.100 - dreamrip.bin BAD COMMAND OR FILENAME. Basically, right now, I'm all outta ideas. Can anyone give me any help?
well i was in your shoes. i just got my adaptor and wanted to work on backing up. i tried all that you did. here is what finially worked for me. you can get all tools at http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown/2004/dcdev/index.html dcload-ip 1.0.3 dctool-ip 1.0.3 dreamrip 2.0.1 cygwin1.dll-needed for dctool cygintl.dll-needed for dctool i changed the ip address in the dreamrip .bat file to 192.168.0.4 i also set my computer ip address to 192.168.0.1 i connected my dc and my pc together with a crossover cable after booting up dcload i swapped it with my game and then ran bat file and presto! it worked perfectly and so simply. hope this helps.
sometimes mine will freeze during the dump .. it's random each time also .. sometimes 250mb , sometimes 640mb , etc .. the one image i did get was all garbage .. but this has all been on the same game (soulcalibur ) .. trying virtual fighter now and it seems to be going ok ( at 543mb now and still going ) .. thing is i have looked at that cd and their seems to be noting wrong with it , even cleaned it a few times .. oh well ..
