New Default Style

Discussion in 'MGF Announcements' started by Vile, Oct 9, 2007.

  1. As you may have noticed, the default style has been changed to a brand new custom one. :)

This will replace the old MG_Green style. We also have plans on brining back the old/black MG Classic style, after updating the templates.

There are still a few kinks I need to work out, but for the most part, its' ready.

PS, the style was made custom for us, by Blincdhild. You can view his work/portfolio at his site:

  2. I like it. Good work.

I also like how the "Quick Reply" has made it's way back into our template
  3. Wow!!
Thought I'd got the wrong addy for a minute there!
This place sure looks modern and colourful now!
I'm looking forward to seeing how the "old/black MG Classic style" looks after it's been polished and re-vamped!
I've used the classic since day one so all these colours are hurting my eyes!!
    Nice work Vile.
The old place looks much more professional now!
  4. Shiny! *Grins*

Well done, Vile. I like the complimentary colors of blue and orange; they're very, well, they're complimentary! :D
  5. hmmm sorry looked like ive missed this post....

as i wrote earlier i like it... except the huge MGF buttons...and im trying to figure where the "new posts" button is...

ps. you can delete my tread, my apologies, i missed it.
  6. It's actually the same meaning as it was with the old style, the only difference is that the icon to represent a new post is different. All this means is that, if a forum contains a new post from the last time you visited, it will contain the first icon (Forum Contains New Posts) and if not, it has the old one (Forum Contains No New Posts)
  7. I think he is talking about the option under the Search button (from the green style) for "New Posts" (only thing I've found in my toying around is a "Today's Posts" under Quick Links).

The only thing I would change would be to get some of the smilies back (I also found out that ":p" doesn't do  anymore) - I don't know how hard that is to do, so if it's very difficult at all, don't worry about it (this is not anything major).
  8. If you're looking for new posts, it can be added back in if you want.
  9. Personally, I like that option - it makes the search results a little bit more organized/concise
  10. I like the new design too

    Looks more modern
  11. Grr Stupid Anti Spam Counter Measures!!!
  12. it just needs to be less brighter, maybe a darker color would do the trick, with all the bright colors u need to go close to the screen to read.
on that note, its 2 thumbs up from me

p.s now i need a colourful avator lol
  13. There's nothing wrong with bright :). I prefer a semi bright site like this (and don't point my site out...the design was done back in 2001).

I'm not sure why a lot of gaming sites have an obsession with dark color schemes
  14. Looking very slick there Vile...so much more different and colorful than the black background that we had for ages....
    good show i say....
  15. well iam just making a suggestion. feedback is allowed
  16. Nice:biggrin: I like the change:)
  17. Ive changed back to the green version for the reason that the menu button has been replaced with "gallery" in the v4.....

I really need the menu button with "todays post" (thats what i meant), since i simply cannot go trough every board and check whats new.... todays posts works waay faster and efficient.... if ur planning to put it back, please let me know... thanks :)
  18. LOL, todays posts is on the quicklinks button:rolleyes:

    --edit--

What about having costum themes that the users can choose themself, I would realy like a FEAR theme or a Halo theme
  19. lol thanks i figured =)
