Hi!My friends dvd reader does not work ok...This i mean VERY WIERD...It plays all the dvd's except Xbox 360 games...He tried to remove disk...nothing...
Did you put some mod chip or something on it? Maybe on some update de Xbox went problematic coz M$ cr@pol@ anti piracy system I dont know just a supposition
If its still under warranty send it back. If not then maybe the best idea if hes good with pcs and such to buy a drive and fit it himself, otherwise just send it off to Microsoft saying it RROD'd and its just over a year old. The GPU sits above the disc drive and releases a lot of heat, it can warp discs, try a new disc or one of you own in it even in his xbox. Its badly laid out for cooling like

As for the X360, what is the error code? Your unit should display an E code, as well as a blinking light code. Other than the RR', the only other hardware issue within the 360 has been a series of network cards going buggy. Your issue sounds more like an HDD failure. If the DVD player plays movies, it's not the player. Possible that a critical file has been corrupted. In whuch case the OS needs to be reflashed to it's memory. But unless you got a service system disk, you'll need outside help. Xbox customer support has never failed me. Sony customer support has never done anything.....ever.
I dont think is the dvd drive failingit must be something else I was the drive I guees would be failing on all disks or slowreading/skipping
sounds like the open tray problem its a mcrosoft fault by law they have to fix it dont take no for an answear report back leme know how it went?
